Join BADT for this FREE community event to learn more about Medicaid for doulas with Amy Chen, Senior Attorney at the National Health Law Program and a leader on the NHeLP’s Doula Medicaid Project.

As of August 2026, the United States now has over half of all states implementing Medicaid coverage for doula care. Many of these states have begun their doula Medicaid programs in the last 3-5 years, meaning there has been a tremendous amount of momentum and appetite for expanding access to doula care, in a relatively short period of time.

However, with implementation has come many challenges for both doulas and Medicaid enrollees. What is the current state of national implementation of Medicaid coverage for doula care, and what best practices can be gleaned from the states that have already implemented it? What threats might be posed by HR1 and some of the attendant changes coming to Medicaid? How might interested doulas and stakeholders effectively strategize to continue to expand access to equitable, inclusive, and sustainable programs for Medicaid coverage for doula care in spite of ongoing political, financial, and administrative challenges?

We’ll discuss these issues and more! Register below and we’ll see you there.

PS: This event counts towards the continuing education requirement for recertification.
