Scholarships FAQs
Do you offer scholarships?
Yes! We offer full and partial scholarships for our live trainings during each enrollment period. The window for scholarship applications is limited, so if there is a live training you are hoping to access via scholarship (i.e. FSD or FSLE), make sure you keep an eye on our email newsletters and social media accounts during the enrollment period as these are the only places we announce dates for scholarship applications!
We try our best to provide some financial support to everyone who completes a scholarship application (as long as they have not already enrolled in the course). We prioritize scholarship applicants who have not received scholarship support from us in the past, applicants who express greater financial need (self-described), and who have historically marginalized identities. That said, we cannot guarantee that you will receive scholarship support or that you will receive the amount of support that you request.
If you have already signed up for a course you will not be eligible for a scholarship. We do not offer scholarships for prerecorded trainings and courses or CE courses.
When do you offer scholarships and how do I apply? What is the process to apply?
We offer our scholarships only for our live, active trainings (FSD and FSLE) and not other trainings and courses (i.e. Midwifery Track, Prerecorded CBE, Precorded Postpartum Doula, CE Courses, training bundles).
Scholarship applications open at least two weeks before the scheduled live training’s first class.
The scholarship application form will provide questions that help us determine one’s need and alignment with BADT. While you don't need to write an essay, the more information you can give us about your interest in BADT and desire to take our training, the better!
Can I still apply for a scholarship if I already have purchased the training?
If you have already paid or enrolled in the training, you are not eligible for a scholarship.
If you have applied for a scholarship, please do not pay for or enroll in the training while you wait to hear back, as you will no longer be eligible for the scholarship if you pay before being awarded one.
If I purchased the training already but would like a refund so that I can apply for the scholarship, could I be refunded the full amount or a partial amount so that I can be considered for a scholarship?
Once you have purchased the training, you are not eligible to apply for the scholarship. We do not provide refunds (full or partial) once the training is purchased.
What happens if I asked for a full scholarship, but received a partial scholarship?
If you do not receive a full scholarship, you will be provided a partial scholarship instead that can be applied to the full price of our FSLE training or towards a payment plan for our FSLE training.
Can I turn down a scholarship (full or partial) and save it for a future training or toward another training or CE course?
If you turn down a full or partial scholarship, you are not able to apply the scholarship toward a future training or other trainings (i.e. Midwifery Track, Prerecorded CBE, Precorded Postpartum Doula, CE Courses, training bundles) and will have to reapply during our next round of open scholarship applications.
What if I am awarded a partial scholarship? How can I apply it to the training?
If you are awarded a partial scholarship, the remaining payment must be made or a payment plan must be established within a week of scholarship notification. Instructions on how to apply the scholarship will be emailed to you once you have been awarded.
Can I withdraw my scholarship application if I ask for a full or partial scholarship to change it to the scholarship I want?
If you apply for a full or partial scholarship, you are unable to switch out your application or cancel it to submit another one. Once you have submitted your application, it will be under review. Multiple submissions of a scholarship application could result in becoming ineligible to be considered for a scholarship.
I missed the deadline to apply for the scholarship. Am I able to still apply and be considered?
Once our scholarship applications have closed, we can no longer accept applications outside of the stated deadline, as applications immediately go under review and are awarded to those who have applied before the deadline ends. You will need to apply for the next round of scholarships once it opens back up again.
